What an amazing experience! I had no idea. The world has certainly changed in the short years since you were there and I am really enjoying learning more about how things used to be. Beautifully written!

Thank you, MK. It does seem like such a short time ago, and the world really has changed in that time. (Although anyone who is older than 60 could probably say that!)

Deja Vu - Illuminating Afghanistan - & especial thanks re the two music clips..

Will indulge with headphones a bit later without distractions - You’ve reset or perhaps it’s more - enhanced my growing sense of this fierce land.. I’ve known of since starting to read at three years of age.. that’s 69 years of Afghanistan’s History only ! Political Failure & criminal level Deceit & extreme Obstruction spurred renewed study on my part.. & obviously contemporary Cinema is all over this political phenomena - we saw ‘Mission Kandahar’ last night.. stunning cinematography ! (but not spoilers otherwise ! 🦎🏴‍☠️🐫)

I haven't seen or heard of the movie, but the landscapes of Afghanistan are stunning!

The film is a New Release - I understand now it was primarily shot in Saudi Arabia, mainly due to a stunning 40% Cash Rebate on offer.. hardly unusual. At some point I’ll be uploading several tales from the world of motion picture production & post .. but was a mere ‘minnow’ if even that’ ! You’ll find two stunning Documentaries I’m ‘spotlighting’ on my site - both under 10 minutes or so.. & unforgettable - neither have anything to do with Afghanistan .. but via another ‘stack I came across a brilliant visit to The Khyber Pass & can up that to you one way or another if you’ve yet to spot it

One of the Docu’s is from your part of the world & expect you & husband may appreciate accordingly.. if you’ve never seen it. Aside from Koyaanisqatsi - Dark Side Of The Lens - Mickey Smith is likely my most referred or shared Film & via youtube, an Official Vimeo Copy easily accessible
