Sigh. Replace “Moslems” with any religious, political, geographic or ethnic identifier and these words describe most people everywhere, don’t they? There there are those other people, the ones that draws lines and fight, the ones who cling to distinctions and divisions instead of seeking common ground. Thank you for this excellent post!

You are absolutely right, of course. Once we meet people face-to-face and interact with them in their homes, with their families, we realize that we are so much more alike than different. That is why I think it is so important for people to travel and actually live in another culture for a while if at all possible. If we could only dissolve the fear of the other (and ignore the leaders who use fear to manipulate people for their own self-serving ends), we would be so much better off...
